What an AWESOME Week I had! Last night I had the opportunity to photograph a family with strong roots in JET Band, family and their faith! Joy & Don Prendergast and their family. Natalie who is an Alum of A&M with Kelly & Robert soon to be alum as well. What a blessing to have had our paths cross and what a great honor it was to have captured their family portraits ths week. Here are few shots from this fun session!
Joy - you know I love you girl! This photo just captures your wonderful spirit and true love of life! It's a special gift and I'm glad we share that!

This past month I have been working with the James E. Taylor High School band director Chris Bailey on their photography needs to help promote the JET Band. Of course I was on board!
Recently the JET Band Boosters purchased an 18 wheeler for the JET Band. This rig replaces the yearly rentals of trucks to transport band equipment to local football games as well as many of the band competitions throughout the year. What a GREAT Donation from the Boosters and an awesome addition to JET Band. I donated my photography services and the images I created were used by gfxwraps.com in the creation of the "skin" which was all donated by John Eagle Honda & Acura. I was really excited that in thanks my website was given credit for the photography! What a great honor to have this exposure. Here is the final product.
March-A-Thon - On Saturday, August 14th, the JET Band marched throughout the local community to raise awareness and give back to the community the wonderful sounds of music - the first time the band ever did this. The new 18 wheeler lead the parade followed by the Fire Trucks, local police and the Ambulance (EMTs) followed the entire band taking up the rear. What a sight it was!
The goal in this venture was three-fold:
- First and foremost, to provide entertainment for the supporters of the JET Band program.- Secondly, gain exposure from the supporters of our program. - Lastly, use this as an opportunity to raise funds for the 2010-2011 school year. The members of the band will be accepting pledges or donations (donations recommended) for total marching distance.
The final tally of donations is still in progress. I'll update that when I hear the final amount raised.
In addition, the local Constables & Fire/Ambulance all donated their time to help this event and spent 8am - 4pm on this event. I also found out yesterday that Academy Sports & Outdoors also donated the cab for the 18 wheeler AND a driver for the entire year! Many thanks go out to all of the Men & Women who spent the day with the JET Band - all wonderful volunteers! As a final treat the local Fire Department gave all the kids a good soaking! How fun is that!

Key Milestone: 3 month Baby Session
If you miss the opportunity to have your newborn photographed (best time between 6 to 8 days old) - don't fret! A very special time to capture those adorable smiles can be done between 3 to 4 months of age. Now able to hold their heads up and push up on their tummy - it's the perfect time for your babies first portrait session. Both mom and dad participate in this session as well!
These little ones tire quickly - thus we capture those precious sleeping images. Sessions can be done here at PICHE Photography in the Katy/Houston Texas area or can be done in the privacy of your own home - the most preferred option for first time parents.
This summer we had the opportunity to travel back to my home state in Massachussetts to photograph new parents Patrick & Amanda's first child. I also had the opportunity a few years ago to photograph their engagement & wedding day! A very special couple!
Introducing sweet baby Sophia! Patrick & Amanda welcomed sweet baby girl Sophia into this world on February 26, 2010.

Precious Katy & Houston Babies...
Last week I had the opportunity to photograph baby Baxter and his mom. This was Baxter's first professional photography session. Just shy of six months, a perfect time to have your baby's first portraits done if you missed the newborn time (0-3mo). Six months old - curious expressions and melt your heart smiles! Not quite yet sitting up on his own (capture that time around 9 months) but he loved standing in moms lap. Check out those litte cubby legs - love it!

We gave Baxter a work out and he did fall asleep so we could capture those beatiful baby portraits of him sleeping cuddled up to mom. Generally speaking, I love to photograph the babies at 3-4 months so we can get the sleeping portraits as they stay asleep longer and you can manipulate them without waking them. The closer your baby get to 6 months we may or may not get the sleeping baby photos. We were blessed that we tired sweet baby boy Baxter out!
